Rae Bane

Rae joined VAMPS in 2023 for The Sound of Music (2024) to perform alongside her husband Nick, and youngest daughter Jenny both of whom have performed with VAMPS previously, with Nick’s debut in 2019 with My Fair Lady, and Jenny’s debut in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (2023). Rae was so impressed with the creative team behind both Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Sound of Music that she decided to audition and was happy to receive a role. No newcomers to the amdram scene however, as the Bane family are also heavily involved with Bourn Players in Cambridgeshire, Rae being one of the founding members of the society. She has performed numerous times with the Bourn Players, with roles such as The Wardrobe (Beauty and the Beast), Rizzo (Grease), Drunken Baroness (Alice in Wonderland), numerous singing credits in comedy nights, and an ensemble role in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. 

Outside of the theatre, Rae has many credits to boast, with an honours degree in Agriculture, she has been a Farmer, Scientific Field Officer for Milk Marketing Board, TA, Music Teacher, Swedish Masseuse, Artist, Carer, and Income Administrator. She is looking forward at heading towards early retirement so she can focus on gardening, painting, walking, dancing, singing, wine, and laughter!
